Captain's Days are scheduled periodically throughout the school year, usually in conjunction with holidays and/or forthcoming school breaks. During a Captain's Day, students are divided into groups with representatives from each grade level working as a team. Students aged 3-14 spend the day working together to accomplish tasks. Teachers create various stations as the students rotate through each - accomplishing the assigned task. For example, the Friday before the Super Bowl is usually a Captain's Day. Last year, we held the "Math Suer Bowl". Each station had some type of game or activity that incorporated different math skills with a football theme.
